If you have never heard of the 5-piece indie group Y LUV, you have definately been missing out. Based out of Southern California, this up and coming quintet is starting to turn heads of music producers with last year’s EP release of How Chill Can You Let Go. Continue reading
Simian Mobile Disco – “Unpatterns (Album Review)”
Simian Mobile Disco are a rare breed of artist, in that the duo began as an offshoot of a larger group whose popularity eventually surpassed the original. You’ve likely (well, hopefully) heard Justice’s funky masterpiece of a track, “We Are Your Friends,” but unless you’re the type to do a little research, you may not have realized that it’s a rework of Simian’s “Never Be Alone.” Continue reading
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – “American Dream Part II (Music Video)”
It appears his onstage confetti has finally hit one of his video. After being hooked on Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, (or T.E.E.D for short), we finally have another single from the costume wearing Brit! Continue reading
Zulu Winter – “Language (Album Review)”
Zulu Winter has just put out their debut album titled Language, and so far, it proves to be as solid an indie rock record as was expected. The entirety of the album is littered with reverb, soothing vocals with perfect harmonies, intricate guitars, and some classic style synths — all of which compliment eachother almost perfectly. The album has a slow start with no real memorable moment or catch, but when the third track “Bitter Moon” comes rolling around the corner, Zulu Winter really starts to shine through. Continue reading
HEALTH – “Tears”
HEALTH is a wild animal. I’ve never been able to pinpoint their sound completely. One minute it’s noisy. Another it’s ambient. It’s here. It’s there. It’s HEALTH. Continue reading
The Knocks – “Learn To Fly”
Whenever I hear a song from The Knocks I can’t help but get swept away into their world of mashed up dance styles and interpretations. Soaring onto the scene late last year with the release of their Magic EP, The Knocks have been rocking parties all around the world with original songs like “Dancing With The Dj” and massive remixes headlined by Dragonette‘s “Let It Go”. Continue reading
Young Liars – “Colours (Music Video)”
If this band and song title already seem familiar, then they probably are. Having already been released in 2010, “Colours,” the second single off of Young Liars first EP Homesick Future, put us back with its fun and kiddish disposition that was created through heaving piano strikes, milky synths and a delectable chorus. Continue reading
Meg Myers – “Daughter In The Choir (EP)”
Meg Myers‘ first full-length piece, Daughter In The Choir has been extremely well received for an artist that has yet, to really ‘blow up.’ While no one’s really sure whether the undeniable similairity to Lana Del Rey is a good one, Mrs. Myers seems to be doing just fine on her own. Continue reading
