What's This?

Melbourne’s instrumental soul ensemble The Cactus Channel have been banging out hits since 2009. A few years back the nine-piece group collaborated with Chet Faker on a seriously good two-track release, and now the group have embraced another singer-songwriter into their midst for the forthcoming six-track EP, Do It For Nothing.

Sam Cromack makes grade-A indie-pop jams with Ball Park Music and unpredictable acid rock under his solo project My Own Pet Radio. But with The Cactus Channel, Cromack showcases new prowess as a mature, soul-powered frontman. His dynamic performances on previously released singles like “Do It For Nothing” and “Sorry Hills” perfectly compliment these deep funk and jazz cuts. Rocking an old school feel that tributes equal parts Stax Records and BADBADNOTGOODThe Cactus Channel & Sam Cromack have made one of the most exciting alternative soul records of the year. We’re pleased af to premiere the closing track from The Cactus Channel & Sam Cromack’s EP, “Brickwall Hallelujah.” Listen below.
