Wild Cub, a Nashville group, consists of two members: singer Keegan Dewitt and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock. After touring for most of 2011 under Dewitt’s name, the duo decided to scrap their original workings and give birth to a more airy, adventurous type of sound with Wild Cub.
The track “Thunder Clatter” off of their self-titled debut has quickly become a standout track amongst the rest as it demonstrates the many talents of the duo. Dewitt’s low, soft, and yet urgent vocals flow perfectly alongside the great combination of guitar, bass, synth, and many various percussions that grow to form a great indie-pop feel comparatively to that of Phoenix.
What makes “Thunder Clap” so refreshing though is the cinematic tone that it creates, as it could easily accompany any late-night drive or bright sunny day. But, while this may be the most commercial track from the duo, the rest of their EP proves just as well, so make sure download your copy through their Bandcamp [here], and prepare to be overwhelmed with positive vibes and a bright kind of mood.
