While Beyoncé is often praised as the “Queen of Pop,” Dua Lipa made a good case for herself with previous singles “Be The One” and “New Love.” Last year, we highlighted the London-born Albanian singer in our “Introductory” series, knowing full well she would live up to the hype. But I don’t think anyone would have expected her to receive such an overwhelming amount of critical acclaim.
Showing potential well beyond her years, Lipa returns with an intoxicating new single, “Last Dance.” Written with Talay Riley and produced by Koz during a trip to Toronto, the song is a hellishly catchy little number that’s worthy of some serious replay value. A touch of dance and a healthy dash of pop, it has all the ingredients necessary to break the charts. And judging by the initial response, we have every reason to believe it will do just that.
