What's This?

Last year, UK electronic composer Floating Points‘ dropped a simply unprecedented masterpiece, his long-awaited debut album, Elaenia. Now, just before a massive spring tour, the producer and multi-instrumentalist has announced his newest effort, the two-track Kuiper EP. Set to release July 22 via Luaka Bop, the EP will feature “Kuiper” along with “For Marmish Pt. II.” The first track came into fruition as a result of playing his solo material with a live ensemble. “Since starting a band to realise the music from my LP, it has sparked a deep interest in the band itself, and so Kuiper is the result of playing with Leo, Alex and Susumu,” said Floating Points in a press release, “Each time we play it, its completely different.”

Ahead of Kuiper, Floating Points has dropped an 18-minute live rendition of the EP’s lead single, which you can watch up top. Stream “For Marmish,” featured on Elaenia, below.
