Melbourne’s psychedelic dream-pop band Frida usually enlist frontwoman Eilish Gilligan (self-described as “a whimsical flower child with the giant voice of a choirgirl possessed”) for lead vocals, but on “Fence” guitarist Lewis Coleman takes the fore. His voice sounds ghostly and distant over lush harmonies and sweeping guitar lines, a melancholy croon that’s surprisingly captivating. “Fence” is featured on Frida’s newest effort, I Want In Your Head, released last November.
