Upbeat indie-rock outfit, Glass Towers, have built quite a solid foundation in the past two years. Stemming from their solid debut EP, What We Were, When We Were, the band has flourished, sharing stages with acts such as Tame Impala, Metronomy, Last Dinosaurs, Cloud Control, and Bluejuice.
Maintaining a tight control of their sound, “Tonight” showcases just what Glass Towers are capable of. Almost raspy vocals wrap effortlessly around crispy drum work, whilst at the same time being accentuated by succinct and penetrating guitar riffs. With Jordan Leser providing the backup vocals this track is well layered allowing a much wanted depth of atmosphere in the music.
Produced by the ever reliable Jean-Paul Fung and Benjamin Hannam, “Tonight” is one of the standout songs on their highly anticipated EP, Collarbone Jungle. From this EP, Glass Towers have drawn comparisons with bands such as the Last Dinosaurs, Two Door Cinema Club and Bloc Party. This band certainly has potential, and if used correctly we may well see upcoming bands compared to them in the coming years.
