What's This?

New York’s up-and-coming rapper-producer duo Medslaus are absolutely killing it. The union of Bed-Stuy/Crown Heights rapper Medhane (pronounced “meh-donny”) and Jasper Marsalis’ Slauson Malone project is a near perfect one, as evidenced by their ambitious and deeply inspired 13-track album, Poorboy.

Slauson Malone delivers confounding, soul-sampling productions steeped in psychedelia and trip-hop, a sonic atmosphere Medhane clearly thrives in. His vocal presence is confident and vaguely mystical, as easily digestible and full of hooks as the beats are formless and impossible to hold onto.

Bump Medslaus’ Poorboy LP below.

Tracks we love: “Cold 2”, “Marie”, “Dirt (feat. MIKE)”
