What's This?

Kimmortal has been making hip-hop and soul tunes from their Vancouver bedroom for the better part of the last four years. The queer, non-binary solo artist makes visual art, raps, sings and even produces beats–their hip-hop artistry sitting somewhere between Lauryn Hill and newcomer Tierra Whack. Kimmortal’s lyrical flow is instantly captivating and impeccably on-point. like the opening lines to their newest official release, “I’M BLUE.” “Once upon a time I made myself number one, now i’m roasting under blazing sun, riding shot gun,” they rap, “You at the wheel, my free will at your direction, memorized your signs but forgot my own reflection.” Delivering bombastic sass and cool charisma, Kimmortal’s “I’M BLUE” is about putting yourself first in the wake of an emotionally manipulative relationship. The track and its accompanying music video (which heavily features Kimmortal’s original artworks) dropped earlier this spring.

More recently, Kimmortal shared a one-off, three-part, self-released track on Bandcamp called “Doodle #1 isa”. Listen.

We’re eagerly awaiting more from Kimmortal. Bump more below.
