Secret Colours – “Ep3 (EP)”

Everytime I go to look for new music these days, I always seem to be shrouded in piles of electronica, and dance music. Now, for me this isn’t much of an issue and over the past few years or so I have grown to love the music along with every other EDM-head, and neon-wearing teen and twenty-something. Although at first glance this may appear to be a shot at all the genre’s that float within the electronic scene, but I assure you it’s not, but more so just an alert that it’s time the world of ‘rock n’ roll’ take a few spots on that stage back.

To help my case I was just sent some crunching, and light grungy-filled material in Secret Colours. Much like my most recent post on Zeus, Secret Colours bear a heavy brand of indie-rock, and seem to share a pretty gnarly resemblance to the Black Lips and Wu Lyf. Most of the sounds off their most recent EP, Ep3 however, range from the more down-tempo track “Carry My Soul”, to the anthem-like track for the destructive young hooligan in “Faust” (see video below). Most of all though, Secret Colours have shown proof of a budding new rock band that will, hopefully, be taking over the stage in 2012.
