Video: Shy Kids – “Raise ‘em Right”

Toronto’s Shy Kids recently caught our eyes and ears with their newest single “Raise ‘em Right.” The single which is based on the trials and tribulations of raising a child is a quirky indie-rock single that pelts with grungy guitar strums and rough vocals. The song’s best part is the drums that provide an addictive foot tapping rhythm that feels almost tribal. The video for the song, which was directed, edited and organized by the trio, is equally as fun. The video features sing-a-long lyrics as various kids eat cupcakes and sugary snacks, as well as some kaleidoscopic effects, balloons and confetti — all of which add up to good time!

The band mixes, records and edits their own music in their apartment. As fans of the mixtape culture, you can expect the band to drop smaller doses of their music throughout the year. They’re working on a video for their song “In the Puddin,” so keep an eye out for it!
