Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse

As I’ve said many times before, there’s no doubt about it, Frightened Rabbit are one of my favourite bands of all-time. Despite the flack I have received for saying that, I have been known to stand firm in my opinion, but with the release of Frightened Rabbit‘s forthcoming new album Pedestrian Verse quickly approaching, I am hoping that the burley-bearded Scots will be able to maintain their position at the top. And after a quick spin of their new album this morning, I am happy to announce that Scott Hutchinson & Co. have been able keep my dignity intact.

Premiered on The Guardian, Pedestrian Verse — while not even released yet – has already received a great deal of attention on both sides of the shore. For a band that has flown under the radar here in North America, and even their homeland for a number of years now, it is great to finally see these more than accesible Scots get some much deserved attention. But if there’s one group of people that will be more than excited to see all this attention, it would have to be Atlantic/Canvasback, who just recently picked up the band from Fat Cat Records in 2010.

Regardless of the success of this album, though, I will be more than happy to give it a full spin of the wheel. And, while I can’t guarantee that I end up loving it as much as I did their three other albums, I am sure that many of you will leave with a good understanding as to why these guys really are my favourite band of all-time.
