Many people may know The Temper Trap for their undescerning ability to turn insatiably catchy rock tracks, into instant hits. But, for those of you that have taken a listen to the band’s sophmore release, The Temper Trap, you probably have a good idea that there is a whole other side to the band that is not often recognized.
That “other side,” which is not often seen, could best characterized by lead singer, Dougy Mandagi’s, crystalline falsetto. One single that has found the band playing to this formula is “Miracle.” Consisting of light guitar riffs and soft synths, the single maintains a cleaner slate that allows for Mandagi take charge and command the single himself.
Giving us a sound that slowly progresses and floats through the inspirational lyrics, “Miracle” makes for an intriguing single that we aren’t used to hearing out of the band. Most importantly though, it has allowed for a more enriching and profound visual than we have seen in the past.
