What's This?

You might recognize the dynamic, effortlessly cool stylings of jazz trombonist Reginald Chapman from his guest appearances on albums by Foxygen and Matthew E. White, or through his contributions as a founding member of the famous No BS! Brass Band. But regardless of his accolades, Reginald’s shit hits. Through performance, songwriting and teaching, Virginia-native Reginald has been a leading figure among jazz communities on the east coast, helping to revitalize a new movement for the genre. On July 26, he’ll release his debut solo album Prototype on Fresh Selects, a proper introduction to this phenomenal rising artist.

We’re so pleased to premiere the first track from Reginald Chapman’s upcoming LP, “You Go To My Head,” featuring vocals from fellow Virginia musician Sam Reed. It’s the only track on the record with a guest appearance or lyrics, making this a special moment of sensuality and mellowness on an otherwise restlessly creative album. Listen to the new single above.
