Ivan & Alyosha - Running For Cover

Simplicity is something that many of us take for granted. Nowadays, it’s rarity to hear music that has been stripped-back and created with the two most common forms of instrumentation: guitars and drums. To hear a band that “sticks to the basics” is something that is difficult to find these days, especially with the array of DIY electronic tools that are at this generation’s disposal. But not to worry, because Ivan & Alyosha are here to settle our woes.

“Running for Cover,” the title track off of the band’s newly released album, All the Times We Had, is a definitively perfect folk song. As you may have already guessed, it is a song of simplicity. Between its sweeping guitars and distinctly gorgeous harmonies, “Running for Cover” holds a refreshingly clean sound that has left us basking in its bliss. The ensemble of guitars and, as I already mentioned, flourishing vocals are incredibly infectious and enlivening, you’re almost certain to be left with your feet tapping and your body swaying.
