Video: Little Green Cars - The John Wayne

If you’ve just come across this post, you are probably the slightest bit intrigued by either: 1. the cutely titled band name, or 2. the rugged actor that this single was aptly titled after. While I hate to be the one to disappoint on either end, I can assure that while this single does not filter through any of the Wild West classics, it does however carry a charming touch of its own.

Given that this young five-piece sites their roots in Dublin, Ireland, you wouldn’t guess that the group comprised of 4 lads and a lady would be ones to draw influence from an American-style of folk music, but, as Little Green Cars are quickly proving, it doesn’t take an old man and a guitar to impress an American crowd anymore.

After having their debut album packaged and sealed by Glassnote Records and Markus Dravs (Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, Coldplay), the group recently premiered the video for their daring folk-rock single, “The John Wayne.”

Between gathering a sound of loud-and-proud drum leads and a chorus full of harmonies, the band deliver a fully bombastic presence that has left us clamouring for more. Needless to say our expectations are high for this band, and seeing what Mr. Dravs has already done with Arcade Fire and Mumford & Sons, we can’t imagine this band trailing far behind.
