What's This?

Washed Out came to fame when chillwave hype was at its height. His music quickly became synonymous with the early hits of his career like “Feel It All Around” (Portlandia‘s theme song) and “Eyes Be Closed”. In a wild turn of events, his newest effort, “Get Lost” was released on Stones Throw Records. On the new joint, Washed Out ditches downtempo chill for an exhilarating deep house cut.

Frontman Ernest Greene processes his vocals with eerie electronic distortion, similar to UK trip-hop act Darkstar‘s first few LPS. The beat behind him–a jazz and funk-infused disco house workout–sounds as if it’s been imported from another dimension. Listen and watch the video above.
