What's This?

With three albums under his belt, Massachusetts-based artist André Obin appears to have found his stride when it comes to creating ambient, synth-pop tracks. “Further Away,” the first track from his latest album, Endorphin, gives listeners a brief glimpse of the dark theme that is present throughout the nine tracks. The eclectic combination of vocals and synths gives the track a cinematic quality: It’s one of those songs you can just picture being built into a film’s score. What’s even better is that this theme is present throughout the rest of the album.

In a recent interview, Obin admits that he sees Endorphin as the end of the road for the synth-pop series he’s been working on for the last three years. However, as he went on to elaborate, that doesn’t mean Obin’s going to ditch the synths altogether, which is good news for fans of his tried-and-true formulae.
