What's This?

Austin Texas-based TC SUperstar had such a good time with the release of their late-spring 2019 album R & D that they decided to do it all over again with the deluxe edition. A move which seems perfectly reasonable considering the content of the record.

How many of us just keep on falling in and out of love with the same people over and over again? So, it’s really neat the promotional moves with the album align so well with its concept in such a meta way.

The deluxe record has all of the tracks off of the original release as well as 10 more including the group’s new single “Call Me Easy.”

R & D stands for Ricky and Dana the title characters of the story which the album tells. It’s an upbeat synth album tracking their fictional relationship from beginning to end with interviews from the characters spliced in between the songs.

With styles borrowed from a wide assortment of synth-pop pioneers from New Order to Bowie TC Superstars well-crafted story of love and loss is not an easy listen for the brokenhearted, but at the end still leaves you feeling a little more hopeful.
