There’s no denying it, summer’s coming, and it’s coming quicker than some of us might expect. One band that is particularly welcoming of the good weather is Caen’s newest indie-pop outfit, Beach Youth. As their name would suggest, this four-piece have an unmistakeable penchant for tropical rhythms and sun-soaked instrumentation. Jangly guitar riffs and tremolos are all too common in the band’s newest single, “Waves,” a whimsical slice of surf-rock that wouldn’t feel out of place in Coasts‘ catalogue. One of three songs on the band’s SoundCloud, “Waves” is without a question the group’s most commercial offering to date. Listen below and get an early dose of sunshine before the heat of summer truly starts to set in.
