If you’ve spent any time on the festival circuit these last few years, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Bestival. The four-day festival, held at Robin Hill County Park on the Isle of Wight, has been a staple in England for the last decade and attracts more than 50,000 visitors annually. With a handful of activities and an eclectic mix of performers, Bestival has quickly become a “must-see” for festival-goers like myself.
This September, Bestival will enter its 12th year, and to celebrate, they have brought their novel ideas and communal vibes across the pond. For it’s North American debut, Bestival will touch down in Toronto for 2 days of bright lights, theatrical performances and sweaty, alcohol-fuelled revelry. The festival will be curated by Rob da Bank and include performances by Florence + the Machine, Nas, Caribou, and many more. There will also be a number of attractions on-site, including (but not limited to), a bubble bath flash mob, a costume party, and an inflatable church where visitors are invited to recite their vows. With over 25 different attractions, there will be no shortage of entertainment.
