LA indie-folk six-piece, Branches, have begun to make a name for themselves after their three full-length LPs as well as a Christmas album, all whilst still going to school. Their most recent playful love-song, “Inventor’s Daughter,” is the right mix of Freelance Whales meets Arcade Fire, with its big and controlled sound.
It is encouraging to see a band so young, have a sound that is so great. And there is no doubt that they have a lot of potential maturity spews more greatly than they have probably been given credit for. With indie-folk scene continuing to grow, there continues a need for more breakthrough artists to make a name for themselves and the revamp genre, but if I’ve gotten anything to say about it, my money’s on Branches.
