The term “indie darling” may have never fit a group so snuggly as it does electric dance-punk duo, Matt & Kim. Never has a band done so much with naught but friendly smiles, warm demeanors, a drumkit, and a synthesizer. Yet with just those tools at their disposal, the two magnetic Brooklynites have made more than a decade long career out of touring the world and bringing pure cathartic happiness everywhere they go.
The group is currently out on the road selling out venues and producing ear to ear smiles in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their breakthrough record Grand. The album which encompassed the smash hit singles “Daylight” and “Lessons Learned” was a springboard for the indie duo into the international musical lexicon, and 10-years after its release the upbeat twosome is still traveling the world doing what they do best … making people happy.
Matt & Kim is in the home stretch of their Grand extravaganza with only 6-dates left on the tour. They are in Philadelphia tonight, a sold-out Washinton D.C. show tomorrow, a night off on the 21st, before closing it all down with Boston, Baltimore, and then two nights in their hometown on in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn.
