What's This?

No, this isn’t an awful April Fool’s joke. Butcher Brown have released a dope new full-length called The Healer. The Richmond jazz/funk ensemble have been sitting on this gem for a minute. The 10-track album was recorded in the summer of 2015, straight to tape with no computers in keeping with their impossibly smooth, Blacksploitation-esque vibe. The Healer showcases a meaner, heavier, and more fiery Butcher Brown who are nothing short of absolutely thrilling.

Tracks we love: “JamesRiver Tunnelvison”, “Syd”, “Moses”

Last month we premiered the title track of Butcher Brown’s new album on our “Future of Jazz” YouTube mix. Check that out below.
