What's This?

Channel Cairo, who are a Brirish group consisting of Joshua Bowyer, Hamish Murtagh, and Luke Saunders, are an ambitious set of youngsters with a unique and friendly sound that you’re sure to love in their newest single “A Year”. Pulling out that, ‘get-up-and-go’ spirit from the listener, “A Year” orchestrates together an infectious piano melody and a building verse to heed you in.

With lyrics that invite you to get up from the mundane, lines like: “It’s been a year and I don’t seem to move at all.” are extremely relatable, and are great for those of you of who are stuck in the same bad job, relationship, or just all-around crappy stage in life. While I happily don’t have to deal with many of these problems myself, the feeling I get from listening to “A Year” makes me wanna get out and drive with the windows down while taking life head-on. Given there’s only a couple of other releases from these folks, we can definitely expect more amazing things from Channel Cairo in the near future, but for right now, “A Year” will do just fine.
