Every so often, there comes an artist that makes you sit back and go, “Wow, this kid’s got some talent!” Looking at Gab Strum, aka Japanese Wallpaper, it’s hard not to feel the slightest bit inadequate. At 17-years-old, the Melbourne-based producer has quickly become one of the hottest Australian exports, making most of his graduating class look like a bunch of deadbeats. At least, they certainly will after listening to Strum’s official new remix of Charli XCX‘s “Need Ur Love.”
As he has done so many times before, Strum has made this song completely his own. While his heavenly take on the original is technically considered a “remix,” it could easily be mistaken for the original itself. From the pillowy synths to the bells that sound like something out of a lullaby, this remix will make you feel like you’re floating on an endless stream of clouds. Speaking of which, you can stream the remix below via SoundCloud.
