After releasing their self titled record, it looks like British shoegazers Cheatahs are ready to follow up their successful debut with new track “Controller” from the forthcoming EP Sunne. Frontman Nathan Hewitt told The Fader “This song is probably the first time we’ve ever written a song on the spot. We were demoing songs in our studio and this one just came out of nowhere. It was like we were being controlled in a video game or something,” and with good reason. “Controller” sounds nothing like the band’s previous sound; sure, the distorted guitars, dreamy vocals and hazy melodies are still there but it sounds a lot more noisy and unruly with its burst of static sounds and fuzzy bass thrown around to keep things fresh and interesting. The new EP is set to be released through Wichita Recordings on Feb 23.
