By this point, I think it’s safe to assume that this latest remix from Kygo will be getting some pretty hefty rotation on SoundCloud. If not for it’s replay value, this remix is every bit as magical as one would imagine. In recent months, the master of tropics has churned out hit-after-hit: From his groovy, unsurprisingly sensual flip of “Sexual Healing” to his refreshing yet still emotional remix of M83‘s “Wait,” the Norwegian has done just about everything in his power to make a name for himself—and so far, it’s been working. Following his recent visit to BBC in which he dropped by Diplo & Friends, Kygo got the attention of Britain earlier this evening when Pete Tong dropped a world exclusive of his most anticipated release to date.
Enlisted by Coldplay themselves, Kygo lifts the group’s newest single, “Midnight,” taking a slightly different approach than what he has used in the past. By no means have things been drastically altered, however, there is a noticeable difference in the structure and progression of the song; it’s feels more thought out, more imaginative if you will. Slower moving, this remix feeds off of the ambiance of the original and filters it through lush atmospherics, dampened pads and Kygo‘s signature tropical beats.
