With only one song under their belt, Dive In haven’t really done much in the way of establishing themselves. But when your music is as polished as theirs, at least you’ve got something to front. With their latest single, “Eighteen,” the boys take their music to new heights, proving what all the fuss is about. The electrifying guitar riffs, sugary synths and rapid-fire drums make for an intoxicating blend of alt-rock and pop. As lead-vocalist Matthew Guttridge soars over the backdrop, there’s a feeling of intensity and fearlessness when he sings the line, “I can be the cold, cold air you breathe / I will be the long-lost love of your teens / I won’t be alone… No, no.” It’s a little strong-willed, but nonetheless admirable statement from a band who’ve got a bright future ahead of them.
