Brother duo Pacific Air (Formerly KO KO) are a band that I wasn’t necessarily looking for, but one that I am pleasantly surprised to have found! After listening to their debut single “Float,” the boys have left me with an unsurprisingly strong feeling that resembles floating over a sea of clouds thanks to the band’s wave of chilling vibes that resonate like a dreamy, non-ambient, indie pop.
It all begins with an air of friendly whistling and a set of synths you would normally expect to hear at a carnival. The perpetual drums play a solid contrast to the happy-go-luck vocals and keep the song alive. Moving through the jaunty backup vocals, the perfectly placed handclaps and fingersnaps finish this song off with a uniquely fresh pop sound.
To say the least I am so pleased that I found these guys, because while good music is good, Pacific Air is great!
