What's This?

Beach Fossils‘ frontman Dustin Payseur is now running his own record label, Bayonet Records, alongside his wife Katie Garcia, who worked as Captured Tracks’ label manager for four years. The news might come as a shock for some die hard fans of both the band and label, but don’t look at it as a bitter end but as an exciting adventure for Dustin and Katie. Payseur told The Fader that he’s always wanted to have his own label, saying: “I found these cassettes from when I was a kid, where I was recording me screaming ‘Fuck’ into the mic over a drum machine, and I’d put like fake record label names and logos on them.”

The new label will release Beach Fossils next record alongside Payseur’s three side-projects as well as talented acts like Frankie Cosmos, Jerry Paper, and Warehouse. The label is set for five releases all due out in March, these include an LP/CD due out from Jerry Paper and cassettes from Red Sea, Warehouse and Fluoride, plus a digital release from Red Sea. So keep your eyes peeled, the label has plenty of exciting things in store. For the time being, stream Jerry Paper’s Big Pop For Chameleon World below.
