With the advent of DAWs, or digital audio workstations, making music has never been easier. While anyone and their mother can become a “producer” these days, it takes something special to standout from the crowd. Enter: Dylan Seals. A student at Loyola University New Orleans, Seals has been experimenting with electronic music for the greater part of a year. His first foray into the world of beat making began almost exactly a year from today with the spacey, Flume-inspired trip-hop number, “Eager Face.” His latest, “Better,” is an entirely different beast, leaning more towards Shlohmo or Clams Casino, than anything else. At just under a minute-and-a-half in length, it’s a short but sonically stimulating joint that sees the producer continue to push the boundaries, both internally and externally.
