Foals have been a hot topic as of late. After releasing their third and most highly anticipated album, Holy Fire, early last month, the band have been heavily promoting their new material with shows, press, and live sessions. As we just found out, one of those live sessions has produced some very exciting results: a newly unreleased single by the name of “Blue Bird.”
Premiered during an in-studio session with Pitchfork, “Blue Bird” divulges the band’s clean and bitter-sweet sound — placing heavy emphasis on harmonics and Yannis Philippakis’ warm vocals. In true Foals‘ fashion, the song remains deeply emotive through all of its four minutes, and showcases the band’s ability to incorporate rich, atmospheric lanscapes into their iconic indie-rock sound.
You can watch the band play the live in-studio version session below, and download Holy Fire off of iTunes [here].
