What's This?

First Cherry Glazzer and now Froth. It looks like fashion designer Hedi Slimane has an ear for talented young acts, and she’s not afraid to showcase them at her runway gigs; in fact, Froth’s “General Education” was extended to thirteen minutes for Saint Laurent’s fall 2014 menswear show. The LA band returns with an effortlessly cool new track entitled, “Postcard Radio.” This might easily be my favourite from them yet; it’s a sweet little glimpse of their forthcoming record, Bleak, to be released on May 5th via Burger Records. “Postcard Radio” is the aural equivalent of a cold sip of lemonade in the sticky LA heat, with its technicolor-tinged guitars and fuzzed-out vocals—a perfect combination of jangly pop and psychedelic grooves that prove California (and high fashion?) is still birthing some amazing bands. Watch Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2014-2015 menswear runway show, featuring the extended version of Froth’s “General Education,” below.
