If you’ve read the liner notes of Halsey‘s spectacular debut album, Badlands, you may have noticed Lido‘s name pop up throughout the record. The Norwegian producer played an integral role in the album’s production and even had a hand in two of four singles. But now that Lido has pursued a career of his own, it seems like the perfect time for the two to reunite. And that’s exactly what they’ve done.
Earlier tonight, Halsey took to her Twitter to share the duo’s latest collaboration, “Tokyo Narita.” The short, but nonetheless welcome “freestyle” is a moody, candle-lit affair that marks new territory for both artists. Despite the simplicity of it all, it’s a real treat for the ears. With Lido’s soft, barely audible beat and Halsey’s unique vocal delivery, there’s a lot to love about this song. Smart. Sexy. Simple. It’s the whole package. We can only hope there’s more where this came from.
