What's This?

Liverpool duo Her’s dropped their debut single, “Dorothy,” today– and it’s very good. Made up of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, this fresh-faced guitar band collage 80s post-punk and modern dream pop for an evocative sound that nods to Ariel Pink and The Strokes.

Read a statement from Her’s about “Dorothy”:

“It was one of the first songs we wrote together, but it came together really quick somehow. Steve brought the chords and some ideas for a melody over to mine late one night.  We got a drumbeat going, doused it in delay and I suddenly found myself mashing away at the bass and that was basically it. That was just the way it seemed like it needed to be, It all made sense at the time.”

Watch Her’s perform an unreleased track called “What Once Was” for The Safehouse. It’s also very good.
