“Peaches” may be one of the most infectious rock pieces you’ve never heard of. The track, which was released many months ago, has now been given a new life thanks to the help of synth-pop superstars, Passion Pit.
After signing onto the prominent Canadian label Arts & Crafts early last week, In The Valley Below have received the kind of warm welcome only Arts & Crafts could provide. With their help, the Los Angeles duo have got Michael Angelakos & co. to tackle their freely moving debut single. The direction of the remix, however, is not what you would have expected from the bubbly pop-rockers. Instead, what Passion Pit have done is overlay a heavy, swirling blanket of synthesizers. In effect, the original has been relinquished of its gravely guitars and light, undertoned organ.
Although this is not the most infectious piece we’ve ever heard out of Passion Pit, it’s certainly one of the most unique.
