A couple of years ago, j.viewz took the concept of playing with your food to a whole new level with his cover of Massive Attack‘s “Teardrop.” Using only a keyboard, a mixer and a handful of vegetables, he re-created the song from scratch in the most organic way possible (no pun intended). While it allowed the producer to demonstrate his musical prowess, it didn’t show us much in the way of his songwriting abilities.
Today, j.viewz returns with a jubilant new single, “Don’t Pull Away,” featuring Milosh, the lead singer of Los Angeles-based R&B duo Rhye. Foundationally, the song is far more ambitious, if not loftier than any of the producer’s earlier releases. But while j.viewz really shoots for the moon with this track, it’s very much in keeping with the motif of his latest fan-funded project, The DNA Project.
