It feels a little bit absurd to share news of Kanye West‘s new single “Real Friends,” since you will no doubt will hear about it from every other media outlet that’s worth its salt. Recycling an old sample from Junie Morrison‘s “Suzie Thundertussie,” the track was produced by Mr. West in partnership with Madlib, who also provided the beat for “No More Parties In L.A.,” which you can hear a preview of around the 4:12 mark. While both tracks feature the Beat Konducta’s signature brand of boom-bap, the latter has a real old school vibe, which serves as the perfect platform for Kendrick Lamar to lay down a few of his own verses.
