Lil Silva - No Doubt (feat. Rosie Lowe)

While I can’t speak for everyone when I say this, I myself have become a whole lot more accustom to the thought of the UK garage scene taking over these past few months. If I were to follow the cookie-cutter template, I would most likely drop names like Disclosure and Bondax before you, but since I respect many of you and your understanding of the music scene a little more than that, I will instead be directing you to someone a little different.

Lil Silva first caught my attention on his collaboration with Los Angeles’ current female focus point, Banks, and their acid-dosed house statement, “Work.” In that release, Silva showcased his gritty, underground style with a mixture of popping beat work and hyper club elements. After that collaboration, however, I found new material from Silva a little hard to come by; or rather, hard to swallow. His string of broken, eclectic releases may have arrived shortly after “Work,” but none of them seemed to tick all the right boxes… that is until now!

Just when it seemed the producer had taken a step back from radar, he has taken a huge leap forward with “No Doubt.” By returning to his original formulae of wobbly, intricate productions, Silva has shown he is back in the game. After tooling with cyclical club beats and Rosie Lowe‘s precious vocals, the man has machined a dynamic and soulful track worthy of numerous replays.
