What's This?

It’s been six months since L’Rain‘s Taja Cheek released her self-titled debut album on Astro Nautico, and we’re no less spellbound than we were then. The four-piece L’Rain live band perform L’Rain from start to finish, more or less, closing with the cosmic tour de force “Which Fork / I’ll Be.” The track takes on a different form live–it’s calmer and less dynamic, but somehow more powerful in its display of restraint. On the record, Taja traverses distinct genres and multiple dimensions of sound as the line “15,000 feet above me” evolves and changes shape with the music around her. Listening to this song is a journey, where you’ll seldom come out the other side unchanged.
