By now, the name Magic Man should be very familiar with you. They surged through the past year with great ease, and as far as we can tell, they have yet to falter. It all started with their joyful, frown-flipping pop anthem “Paris” and quickly enveloped into a string of unmistakably catchy power pieces. While recent releases “Waves” and “Every Day” held a strong position atop our favourite’s list throughout the summer, New Politics have reminded us why we fell in love with the Providence-natives in the first place.
Just like the original, it’s easy to get lost in New Politics‘ buzzing remix of “Paris.” By casting a delightful spell upon the original, New Politics have met Magic Man halfway and sent a volt of electricity flying through the air. Dense beats and effervescent synths comfortably fit within the parameters of the original, while swooping chords progressions and equally pleasant handclaps provide a measure of originality. Magic Man have served up more than their fair share of spellbinding remixes, so it’s about time the favour has been returned.
