What's This?

In spite of what the cross between the “O” may have you believe, OBESØN (pronounced Obey-Son) does not originate from a Scandinavian country; in fact, he cites his hometown as Toronto, quite far from the barren landscape of Sweden, Norway and the rest of those countries that lay nestled up on top of this earth. Now, while OBESØN, aka Meshach Gordon, may not live under the cold night sky, his latest single “Hazy” certainly suits the environment. Icy synths, chilling atmospherics and washed-out vocals lay claim to most of this single, but what makes this song so mesmerizing is the heavy, thumping bass that flows over the backdrop. Clocking in at four minutes exactly, “Hazy” is the perfect end of winter treat, or for those of you in Australia, the beginning of your “cold” months.
