What's This?

If you follow our YouTube channel, there’s a good chance you’ve seen us sing the praises of Oh Wonder. On our website, however, we’ve struggled to keep up with this enterprising duo. But as the old saying goes, better late than never.

Previous singles saw the duo carve out their own little corner of the pop spectrum, but their latest release feels like a big, assured step forward. There’s a certain beauty in simplicity, and with “Heart Hope,” the duo demonstrate just how far a few delicately-struck piano chords can go.

The song is a sombre, piano-led ballad that toes the line somewhere between electronic and pop. Between the swelling synths and back-and-forth harmonies (just one of the duo’s many calling cards), “Heart Hope” is a perfect lesson in restraint.
