Passion Pit is up there with the greats. They’ve always been a band who can put forth a huge sound. They do this by blending eccentric electronics, infectious choruses, and angelic vocal performances provided by Michael Angelakos. “I’ll Be Alright” is the second single from the highly-anticipated sophomore effort dubbed Gossamer that’s set to release on July 24th.
This newest track is just as exciting as the band’s first title-track off the album “Take A Walk” but begins with a much deeper electronic haywire. Angelakos calms the sea of synths by the time the chorus rolls around by assuring us all that “I’ll be alright.” It is a very distinctive mix of sounds that Passion Pit always seems to put together. It could be best described as if Vampire Weekend’s electro-heavy side-project Discovery cleaned up their vocals and teamed up the likes of Miike Snow or someone of the sort. Either way, this track is quick, massive, and hopefully a great preview of what’s to come.
