What's This?

New Rochelle MC ENxVE The Nameless Vagrant has spent the last few years honing in on his craft, delivering a steady stream of self-released collaborations with underground hip-hop producers like pzndrt, Antitune, ONEHALFHUMAN. We’re very honored to premiere the rapper’s newest effort, “Chefron.” Produced by Atlanta’s Chef Gold, who worked on some of ENxVE’s first tracks, it’s the lead single to be featured on ENxVE’s forthcoming double EP Gilded. “Chefron” is a concept track “detailing the escapades of a black federal agent who goes rogue when threatened by the reigning bureaucracy of American government.” In just over two minutes, ENxVE spits this densely constructed narrative, set against a subdued, trancelike beatscape of looped key melodies and clattering drum machines. But the rapper’s swift, unceasing flow is what truly makes this track. Just listening to him lay it down is enough to make you feel short of breath.

ENxVE‘s double EP Gilded is scheduled for release at the end of the year via Eclectic BPM Records. Watch him get interviewed by 909’s & LIX and stream his excellent “fshtx.” cut below.
