Sometimes, it’s very easy to dismiss a remix as a poor, unimaginative interpretation of the original. But with Stepdad‘s pounding new remix of “Move,” you’d be a sucker for ruling it out.
Stepdad, as you might be aware, are no stranger to the remix game, having flexed their muscles with synth-heavy spins of friends and former tourmates, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr and Rubblebucket, respectively. Hoping to go 3-for-3, the boys return with a loud and abrasive flip of “Move,” Kid Runner’s sky-scrapping new pop anthem.
As with any remix by Stepdad, the drums have a lot punch. The vocals also get a little added boost, thanks to a growling bassline and the faint chanting of “HEY!” Not surprisingly, the end result is a forceful, in-your-face kind of remix that will have you incessantly bobbing that noggin of yours.
Listen to Stepdad’s remix down below, and while you’re at it, give the original a little spin as a point of comparison.
