Peter Cooper is no stranger to dreamy electronic productions. Having spent the last few years performing under the moniker Stumbleine, the former Swarms member has made a name for himself by crafting highly immersive soundscapes that tend to fall somewhere between the line of shoegaze and chillwave. But while his flourishing debut effort, Spiderwebbed, drew in a very specific crowd, his latest set of material has, in Cooper’s words, “opened the door to a wider audience.”
Having teamed up with Welsh newcomer, Violet Skies, Stumbleine has focused his efforts on creating a fuller, more (dare I say it) pop-focused sound. Together, the duo have dreamed up a lusciously soulful ballad that is overflowing with heartbreak. With Violet Skies‘ tender, weightless vocals to front and Cooper’s insular production to backdrop, it’s safe to say they have captured the best of both worlds. Lucky for us, the duo have decided to continue this fruitful relationship by releasing a collaborative EP, Chasing Honeybees, due for release on February 10th via Monotreme Records.
