When we first introduced you to Wildlife and their epic rock ballad “Born to Ruin” last month, we had no idea that their sophomore LP would provide us with some of the best rock anthems since Japandroids‘ prolific, Celebration Rock. After giving …On the Heart a quick listen, though, we can confidently say that the five-piece has produced one of the most solid albums we’ve heard this year.
As we mentioned earlier, the album was produced by Gus Van Go (The Stills, Hollerado) and Peter Katis (Interpol, The National). As a result, the album is incredibly polished. “Bad Dream,” one of the standout tracks on the album — and the song that we are happy to premiere before you today — is a perfect example of this polished sound. The heart-racing rock track packs a heavy punch, moving from fuzzy guitars to hammering drums, and doesn’t take long to throw you into the thick of it.
But, while “Bad Dream” is certainly our favourite track from the band’s upcoming album, there is plenty more raw and powerful tracks that are of equal, or higher calibre. So listen to “Bad Dream” down below, and get geared-up for the release of …On the Heart before it hits the shelves tomorrow.
