So this is my very first ‘encounter,’ if you will, with Purity Ring, and I’m absolutely chuffed to bits! This song is phenomenal, and I don’t throw that word around lightly, either. It immediately brought me back to Crystal Castles second record with the track’s dreamy vocals and cleaner version of Salem‘s ‘witch house’.
While it’s mostly filled with ghostly vocals and eerie electronics, it manages to find a softer tone that just begs for it to be remixed. Clicks and claps also crack your speakers with every solemnly sung ‘dum,’ and gesture to nothing more than a futuristic horror flick. As I’m sure it’d be rad if Crystal Castles took their hand at this track, I doubt it would sound any different than the music they already put out, and besides which, this track already sounds pretty darn good as it is.
